Dr. Tricia C. Elliott, Senior VP, Medical, Academic, and Research Affairs, Chief Academic Officer
Dr. Tricia Elliott joined the JPS Health Network in January 2017. As Chief Academic Officer and the Designated Institutional Official, Elliott provides leadership for graduate, undergraduate and continuing medical education, nursing and allied health student education as well as collaboration with research and quality initiatives. Additionally, Dr. Elliott provides leadership and oversight of our medical staff services to provide support for our medical staff in the areas of credentialing, privileging, and peer review.
Dr. Elliott brings over twenty years of experience and leadership in medical education, including serving in several national leadership roles and authoring multiple nationally-recognized publications and presentations. She joined JPS after serving as residency program director and Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch’s (UTMB) Family Medicine Department for more than six years. She also has served as that department’s Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs. She is now Adjunct Professor in the UTMB department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Elliott has an appointment as Professor of Family Medicine with Texas Christian University (TCU)/University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) School of Medicine and with UNTHSC Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Previously, she was the program director of the Baylor College of Medicine/Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program and Clinical Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, while practicing at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University, a medical degree from University of Texas Medical Branch and completed residency in Family Medicine at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center Residency Program in Social Medicine in 1999. She is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.
